Waynesboro, Penna., April 11, 2002 - Landis Gardner announced that it has completed a teaming agreement with Waynesboro Machine Company, Inc., to provide factory certified rebuilding services for selected production grinders. This new arrangement will allow Landis Gardner to respond to its customers' need for economical, high quality machine rebuilding capabilities for a wide range of grinding machines.

In announcing the new business agreement, Landis Gardner president, Dan Pheil, said that a dependable source for qualified machine rebuilding is an essential part of the company's customer support strategy. "Many of our customers are seeking to reutilize their capital equipment assets in the most effective way possible," said Pheil. "There are thousands of Landis cylindrical and Cincinnati centerless grinders still in operation, as well as the other brands that we support. Many of these machines can continue to be profitably operated when properly re-tooled or rebuilt. Now our customers can have the confidence of a factory-certified machine rebuild or remanufacture job at a competitive price."

Landis Gardner is one of the world's leading manufacturers of precision cylindrical grinders, having supplied machines from its factory in Waynesboro since 1897. It currently builds machines from the Landis, Cincinnati and Gardner lines of center-type, centerless and double-disc grinders. In addition, the company owns the original engineering documentation for Goldcrown and Besly disc grinders and Norton, Warner & Swasey, and Pratt & Whitney plain and step grinders. The company also supplies retrofit CNC dressers and a broad range of upgrade and exchange units for centerless grinders.

The staff of the locally owned and operated Waynesboro Machine has over ten years of machine rebuilding experience. Their capabilities include complete mechanical and controls engineering. Under the new teaming arrangement, Waynesboro Machine's rebuilding and engineering capabilities will be fully supported by Landis Gardners extensive engineering staff and factory service team.
